Songs of Ascent Psalm 122

 

Psalm 122 The Joy of Going to the House of the Lord

1 I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the LORD.”
2 Our feet are standing in your gates, O Jerusalem.
3 Jerusalem is built up as a city united together,
4 where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, as a testimony for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the LORD.
5 For there the thrones of judgment stand, the thrones of the house of David.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you prosper.
7 May there be peace within your walls, and prosperity inside your fortresses.”
8 For the sake of my brothers and friends, I will say, “Peace be within you.”
9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your prosperity. 

OUR Christian feet too are standing in your gates, O Jerusalem. Those who are GLAD to go to the house of the LORD, are those who are glad to enter into unity with the Remnant of the faith in Yeshua/Jesus in Israel. It is not about going to enter a rebuilt Third Temple made with men's hands and stones, but about a LIVING TEMPLE Yeshua is building with His LIVING STONES in Israel: His disciples.

Jerusalem is bānâ REBUILT - a city ʿîr (a place GUARDED by waking or a watch) in the widest sense (even of a mere encampment or post) - A city coupled together ḥāḇar where "the tribes of the LORD" (Jew and Gentile) give thanks to the name of the LORD - AS A TESTIMONY FOR Israel.

For in Jerusalem is where the thrones of judgment stand, the thrones of the House of David.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you prosper."

This is a dual-fold prayer because the peace of Jerusalem, the Christians WHO LOVE THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM being prospered, to facilitate the peace of Jerusalem, not only by prayer but also by financially helping. Helping who? "For the sake of my brothers and friends" our Christian prayers are for our spiritual brothers and friends: “Peace be within you.”

9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your prosperity.

It is misplaced affections to dote on the unsaved efforts to rebuild a Third Temple when God is calling us to rebuilt His SPIRITUAL temple in Israel. Pray for the breaking of this delusion among Christians about what is really important to God regarding the Temple of the LORD. Some Messianic Jews cannot see it yet either. Pray God will show them they are the temple of the LORD in Israel, as the Word of God also says repeatedly of Jew and Gentile in Messiah Yeshua/Jesus. 

We're in this love together, its the kind that will last forever.
