Psalm 121 God the Help of Those Who Seek Him
1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence
comes my help?
2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and
earth.
3 He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who
keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber
nor sleep.
5 The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at
your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by
night.
7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall
preserve your soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your
coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.
In the first of these daily posts I wrote that it was Chaim Malespin of the Aliyah Return Center who sparked my interest into looking into the Songs of Ascent, Psalms 120-134, because of identifying the Hebrew word "aliyah" as meaning "go up higher" and connecting that with the Songs of Ascent in Jerusalem. Chaim wrote, "There are 60 plus more promises of the return of the Jewish people in the Old Testament alone. This is truly a God thing."
Because Israel exists today, it is a glaring witness to every Christian, and even to the whole world that God's promises can be trusted. Why to do you think there is so much international aggravation over Israel's existence? Because it means God is true and every man a liar.
To go up higher we have to increase our trust in God more than in what we see that stands in opposition to what His Word says.
