The One New Man
Invitation

Grafted into what?
The Bible assures us that the God of Israel, through the sacrificial work of Jesus, invited all nations to join His family through faith in Israel's Messiah. This new identity and lineage is described as both "being born again into a living hope," and being "grafted into" God's cultivated olive tree.
Where do you really belong? Romans 11, God's Word, explains it: “And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you…For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?””
Every one of us keeps a special place in our hearts for our ancestors and heritage. Even those of us who are not into the “genealogy thing” cannot deny our roots or ignore where we have come from. Like a seed sent from heaven, each person on earth has been planted into a specific earthly bloodline where we grow and develop our personalities, strengths, weaknesses, and core foundations.

In this respect, some are more fortunate than others in that they are planted into healthy and supportive families where gifts and talents are cultivated and where love and emotional support create healthy souls. Others get a rougher, more challenging start, as their families of origin wound them, causing them to limp for life. However, such challenging backgrounds also force us to discover strengths and develop creative survival capabilities that otherwise may not have come through.
Either way, whether we like it or not, the natural person will be forever impacted by our natural ancestry. And no matter how successful or privileged some bloodlines may be, all of them are marred by SIN and trace back to ADAM and to the FALL. Sin and death run through our blood, and the ONLY WAY OUT of this conundrum is by being BORN AGAIN.
Here lies the wonder of the “ONE NEW MAN” (Ephesians 2:14-15) that the Apostle wrote about when describing how the Gentile disciples are grafted, by Faith, into the Olive Tree which is the eternal family of God. The Scripture tells us that even though God’s “Peoplehood” was launched through Abraham and Sarah, everyone in it, whether Hebrew or Gentile, must be grafted into it by faith. No one is born into this Olive Tree naturally; rather everyone whose name is recorded in the Book of Life is invited to be “grafted” into God’s family through the obedience of faith.
A key element in the ministry of the Messianic Jewish community to the Church is the presentation of a clear REMINDER that all who believe and abide in Messiah have actually joined an ancient people group that God created for Himself.
The Apostle Paul, while encouraging the Roman disciples to financially support the Messianic Jewish community in Jerusalem during the turbulent days of the First Century A.D. brought the example of others who already did so. “For it pleased those from Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints who are in Jerusalem. It pleased them indeed, and they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have been partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister to them in material things.” (Romans 15).
According to Paul, the Gentile disciples, once they are born again into the heavenly family, have become “partakers of their (Israel’s) spiritual things.” Consequently, the apostolic logic concludes that these Gentile “partakers” have a “duty … also to minister to them in material things.” Amazing. All members of Messiah’s Body are intertwined with one another, and each member of this new kind of humanity have something to give and something to receive.
God’s wisdom and counsel call for Jew and Gentile to become ONE in Messiah. It is not a oneness of race or nationality, rather it is a oneness of Spirit and of purpose. According to the apostolic doctrine, the Gentiles are invited, through faith in Messiah, to be fully grafted (integrated) into God’s peoplehood, His eternal Olive Tree. As Paul reminded the Romans, they can now share in the rich substance of that Olive Tree as they are “… grafted in among them (the Jews), and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree.” (Romans 11).
Together, as a new kind of humanity, ONE NEW MAN believers gain access to the only bloodline that carries eternal life; the sinless and holy blood of God’s Messiah who was born without sin. Mystical John was convinced that “in Him there is no sin.” (I-John 3). Pragmatic Peter said that He “committed no sin.” (I-Peter 2). And intellectual Paul wrote that He “knew no sin.” (II-Corinthians 5). The entire apostolic witness agrees that Yeshua’s sinless life was the prerequisite for the success of His eternal sacrifice.
Therefore, taking the Lord’s Supper often is our joy and our honor as we partake of Him and declare our victory through His death and resurrection to the powers and the principalities until the very end of this age.

Reuven, as I have been studying all the points you made here - savoring the clarity of your statements, I got to this and had a thought I want to bounce off you.
You wrote, "the Gentile disciples, once they are born again into the heavenly family, have become “partakers of their (Israel’s) spiritual things.” Consequently, the apostolic logic concludes that these Gentile “partakers” have a “duty … also to minister to them in material things.” Amazing. All members of Messiah’s Body are intertwined with one another, and each member of this new kind of humanity have something to give and something to receive."
I have been contemplating all the Christians who deny Israel and the Jewish people as significant to Christians. I know many of them are going to awaken to the truth before the end, but even among those that are already supporters of Israel, yet they deny the family relationship of Christians and Jews in the faith of Yeshua. These same Israel supports are those who often financially support the religious Israeli persecutors of Israeli Messianic Jews, and do not consider in the least financially supporting those carrying the Gospel to fellow Israelis which is, as you rightly connected, the "duty" of those Christians partaking in Israel's spiritual things.
It seems to me we are at a point in prophetic history where the lack of identification of Christians with their spiritual kin among Jews in the faith of Jesus, is breaking the sharing God expects of us.

In Matthew 13:11-12 Jesus said, “The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has, will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him."
It strikes me that at this stage of God's unifying the one new man in faith in His Son, that Christians remaining apart from the Israeli Messianic community, refusing to fulfill their "duty" to do so, are in that very place of losing what they think they have in the spiritual abundance of Israel. We have resources to give to each other as Christians and Messianic Jews and when we refuse to see that, don't our losses of the spiritual resources we have begin to be taken away as Jesus said? I think so.

Arrows from Zion
Summarized from the Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests Israeli Ministries

Howard Bass( Nachalat Yeshua/Inheritance of Yeshua) once again had so many profound points to make in his latest from how the enemy’s strategy is to wear us down “to have us "quit the fight" and stirring up all kinds of complaints "in the wilderness/desert." How that doesn’t just apply to Israel’s war, but also to the body of believers in all the world with many “opinions, disputes, doubts.” The body disputes in Israel over the war are “-- much of it concerned with world "opinion" and the revising and re-writing of history. Ignorance and indifference are the soils of deception.” This is why we have to know our God and the full counsel of His Word. If we base our convictions on anything else than God’s Word it is the best soil for deception to take root in.
The first thing Howard mentions is how the children are returning to school where “
they will be taught in a world increasingly parting from believing and knowing that there must be absolute truth and righteousness and love. Without that, nothing can be certain, and no one can stand on a firm foundation that is always sound against any and every storm and disaster.” The Israeli children are in the same boat as children all over the world whose parents have wandered away from the rock solid foundation of God’s Word to dabble in the way the world is going.  You may enjoy the message Howard brought last week as part of the series he has been preaching all year. He writes, “week I touched on a nerve for more than a few:
Sanctification: Serving God, and Not Mammon.”
What some consider sticky issues are not so sticky if God’s Word is the last word and the whole counsel is considered. As Howard brought out, many have been deceived in the nations over the deception that Israel is committing “genocide” – even Christians – because Judeo-Christian westerners are loathe to "see people suffer and die," and can therefore be controlled and ruled more easily by emotions rather than by truth and righteousness.” He writes, “Israel is a sovereign nation by the righteousness of God carrying out His plan of redemption, as He has said and had written for our instruction. There is an incessant war against that -- both spiritual and carnal -- and Israel has every legal justification for both defending itself, and taking necessary offensive means to seek to prevent her enemies from continuing to try to carry out their stated raison d'etre of destroying the people and nation, and taking the land for themselves.”  There are so many wonderfully thought out, biblically based and profound comments made in the monthly email Howard sends out. Guy Cohen, another mightily anointed pastor in the town of his birth, Acco, at
Harvest of Asher, encourages us to take this period of “the month of Elul, a season of repentance, self-examination, and spiritual renewal. It is a time when our hearts are stirred to return to the Lord.” This is the run up to the Feast of Trumpets a prophetic  picture of the end time plan of God. Guy writes that through the Hebrew scriptures ,” the months are counted by number rather than by name” and how it was “was only after the return from the Babylonian exile that the Jewish people began using the Babylonian names for the months, such as Tammuz, Av, and Elul...” (That is something I’m chewing on for meaning!)
He writes, “The famous phrase: “I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine” (Song of Songs 6:3) reminds us of the deep intimacy between God and His people. Elul is the time when the King is near, welcoming us with love and mercy.” In other words: the time to repent is now BEFORE the coming prophetic events of Fall biblical Feasts of the LORD. Guy continues, “) Our repentance is not by our own strength, but through the atonement of Messiah’s blood. He is our true wall, our shield, our refuge, and our living hope. The prophet Malachi declared: “Return to Me, and I will return to you.”  … “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) This is God’s heart not only for the individual, but for all Israel, to be restored, redeemed, and brought into His everlasting hope.  Elul is A Call to Action, an Invitation

Shemen Sasson - Anointed with the Oil of Gladness | “You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness more than your companions.” (Psalm 45:7) There’s something very real and very personal in these words. They remind us that the choices we make in life matter deeply to God. When we love what is right, when we honor His ways, when we turn our backs on wickedness—even if it costs us something—God responds by pouring out His blessing in a way the world can’t give. From Revive Israel led by Youval and Valerie Yanay – “we find ourselves preparing for a new season in the fields, in the pens, and in our homes. Children are returning to their programs and routines, the market is coming back to life, and our community is being renewed through gatherings and shared service. It’s a powerful reminder that every season of life is part of God’s perfect plan: "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven." – Ecclesiastes 3:1
Then today 9/5 they send a new update so encouraging:
Days of Awakening Among the Next Generation | Exciting times are unfolding here at the farm. Even amid the challenges of war and political tension that Israel has faced over the past two years, we sense a mighty stirring in the Spirit. This is a season of awakening. "Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light." – Ephesians 5:14Many young people who grew up in believing homes are returning to their roots, coming back to Yeshua with renewed hearts…. Young men and women, some finishing military service and others returning from travel abroad, are longing to rediscover their faith and invest in the eternal values of God. From the beginning, our heart in establishing the farm was to create a place of peace and rest, where weary souls can be restored. It fills us with joy to see young people drawn here, seeking to be filled with His Spirit…. We invite you to pray with us for young believers and all hearts in the Land….. Pray also for our community, that God would grant wisdom, guidance, and the fullness of His Spirit as we serve and minister to each one who comes. Let us press forward together in faith, walking in His ways, shining His light, and trusting Him to awaken hearts across the Land.

Sally Shiff out of the HaMaayan congregation in Kfar Saba writes on 9/5 It has been 700 days since October 7, 2023 when 1,200 Israelis were murdered, and 5,431 were injured. Since then: A total of over 26,000 rockets, missiles, and drones had been fired at Israel since the start of the conflict on October 7, 2023. This includes: ~13,200 from Gaza ~12,400 from Lebanon ~400 from Iran ~180 from Yemen ~60 from Syria | Updated totals beyond that date aren't confirmed yet, although additional figures (like the 9,000+ from Hezbollah) suggest continued attacks. Keren Silver, the daughter-in-love of David & Josie Silver of Out of Zion ministries, writes “ In Quietness and in Trust” which is taken from Isaiah 30:15. She writes, “The black cloud hanging over Israel is not just a headline - it is a heavy reality felt in every home, among believers and non-believers alike. Faith is being tested and any kind of peace feels elusive. Hope and joy are not givens - they are daily battles.” I so appreciate the Israeli ministries who have in humility admitted how much pressure is upon all the citizens of Israel during this war. To be transparent of the toll this has taken on all Israelis cannot be taken lightly. As the followers of Messiah, they provide an example for us when the crushing times come, how “in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” Keren writes. “Staying on the Rock is difficult when the storm winds blow strong. Voices and opinions sound from every direction - plus the constant swirl of news spins - can easily shake our footing.” This is the time she writes, “that calls for sharpness of spirit, resilience of heart, and a close walk with Yeshua, the One who will ultimately revive creation and make all things new (“Tikkun Olam” – the renewal of the world)…. Yes - there are times when God calls us to fight, to engage, to act in faith. But there are also times when He calls us to release our grip entirely - to surrender control, lay down fear and worry, stop striving in our own strength, and simply stand still before Him. It is in that posture - quietness, trust, and surrender - that we witness His power on full display.” Keren, along with husband Stefan, serve in the Kerem-El/God’s Vineyard congregation.

Avner Boskey of David’s Tent writes of an immediate need as they are finalizing their
Ezekiel 37 Project – our 32-plus video teachings in English soon to be available bi-weekly on social media and on our website www.davidstent.org. .   This video course has been taught twice in Israel in the Hebrew language, and will now be available worldwide and free of charge for the English-speaking world…. Ezekiel 37 Project involves a broad-based spectrum of Messianic equipping coming from a Jewish perspective, with solid biblical foundations shaped by Jewish and Messianic Jewish history, a focus on the unique Last Days contribution that God has crafted which will come to fruition at the hands of Jacob’s children, and the Scriptures’ teaching about coming Middle-East-based military conflicts directed against the Jewish people and their Land.
As we are closing in on the final steps of video editing, social media advertising/outreach, and necessary webpage upgrade, we are in need of one more financial boost which will enable us to cross this fast-arriving finish-line…. The need is immediate. Any contribution would be significant. To donate online visit: http://www.davidstent.org/give

Leon Mazin of the Return to Zion Center/Shaveitzion in Haifa writes about a spiritually enriching time they spent in Norway with “a group of 12 young people who had completed their service in the Israel Defense Forces on a renewal and discipleship trip.” It is called their Nesher Project that over the years several hund people have taken part. “We know that many of them didn’t just experience a renewal in their faith, but became strong believers in Yeshua, active leaders, and servants in Eretz Israel. At the same time, our brothers and sisters in Norway were also deeply blessed through ministering to these young Israeli men and women.”
     He continues, “
In recent years, Israel has faced a wave of criticism from within Norwegian society. But we thank God that many Christians in Norway know the truth. They stand with Israel in love, in prayer, and in action. For two and a half weeks this summer (July–August 2025), the Nesher Project took place in Norway — in Hemsedal, Voss, and Bergen…. During the Project, we were joined by Norwegian youth, and it was an absolutely beautiful time of fellowship. The Lord richly blessed everyone — both our Israeli group and our Norwegian brothers and sisters. This trip wasn’t just about teaching — it was also about adventure and shared life. . . . And in all of it — the Lord was right there in their midst. Many of you know that unique moment when the Holy Spirit begins to move, and relationships form naturally, deeply, almost effortlessly — and unity comes. That’s exactly what happened during this time.”
As for prayers for the three congregations under Leon’s oversight,
At Shavei Tzion (Return to Zion), Or Chai (Light of Life or Living Light) and Nezer ha-Galil (Crown of the Galilee) Congregations, he asks for the upcoming restart of the Music School and the charitable Soup Kitchen.” PLUS “approaching the fall holidays — a season that brings with it both joy and responsibility, along with a fair share of work…. May our Heavenly Father bless you and your loved ones. I’d like to again thank you for your financial support and prayers for Shavei Tzion ministry. As I shared earlier — we are, unfortunately, still at war. This continues to place a heavy burden on our hearts, minds, and daily lives.

Michael Beener of City of Life in Sderot is also focused on the Fall holidays as they are preparing to serve over 300 needy families with food support and grocery vouchers. That is a $17,000 fundraising goal for them. If you can help them go to the

Back in July I got a great email from a subscriber in New Zealand, Rob Yule. It took me a while, but this week I have room to share. There are so many of the subscribers who have been serving the Lord in support of Israel for years and even decades. I wanted to share Rob’s story, and also let you know about the books he wrote that could be great resources for further understanding of our calling from God to serve Him.
Here is Robert M. Yule’s email 7/11/2025:
I was most interested to read your account of how you became persuaded of God’s purposes for Israel and in support of Messianic believers. I too had a journey like this, but different from yours.
In my first church, I suffered two schisms beginning at the start of my second year (1980). In desperation for God to move in rebuilding unity and bringing restoration, I began to pray in the darkened church at night, “between the porch and the altar” (as Joel 2:17 says), for God to rend the heavens and come down, to send an outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and to create an exemplary Christian community like the early church in the book of Acts, which would attract people by its worship, witness and common life.
All this has happened in a remarkable way
– and forty-five years later this church is now a shining example of charismatic renewal, the flagship church of the Presbyterian movement in New Zealand.
But something quite unexpected happened when I was baptised in the Spirit on 30 October 1981 as a result of these prayers. God started to show me what he was doing to prepare the world for the return of Jesus – including the role of the Jewish people, being restored to their land and to their Lord. It was a quite different scenario to the various popular eschatologies then current, especially escapist rapture teaching. It took me more than a decade and a half to think it all through and resulted in a short booklet, The Return of Jesus: Earthing the Christian Hope (1998).
This experience led me to a life-changing trip to one of the earliest International Christian Embassy Feast of Tabernacles Celebrations in Jerusalem, where I met Derek Prince, Steve Lightle and Avraham Shifrin (a former prisoner in the USSR and author of a book on the Soviet labour camps). I became a founding board member of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem, New Zealand Branch (1983-87) and subsequently of Prayer for Israel, New Zealand (1987-99).
In my retirement, with Steve Lightle’s encouragement, I have published a major book collecting talks, articles and lectures on Jewish and Israel subjects that I’ve given throughout my life. Entitled Restoring the Fortunes of Zion: Essays on Israel, Jerusalem, and Jewish-Christian Relations on the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Six-Day War (Bloomington, IN: Westbow Press, 2017), it has historical information and material on biblical prophecy you won’t find in any other book. Perhaps it should be subtitled Israel in Ancient Prophecy and Modern History to convey a better understanding of what it’s about.
I’d love you to get my book and look at it and, if you were supportive, commend it and advertise it in your newsletter. I struggle to get it widely known from far off New Zealand and I think many of your supporters would be inspired by it and likewise commend it to others.

Also my other books: A Terrifying Grace - Sexuality, Romance and Marriage in Christian History | Restoring the Fortunes of Zion - the dramatic story of the reemergence of Israel onto the stage of modern history | Fences of Freedom - The Ten Commandments for Today | The Holy Spirit as Person and Power - Charismatic Renewal and Its Implications for Theology
Keep up the good work. Yours in Messiah, Rob Yule
