Arrows 2025 May 23 Forcing Israel (and Reality Check)

Forcing Israel
TO GET WITH THE

‘Gentile Solution’
TO THE
‘Jewish Problem’

For all of Trump’s good intentions toward Israel,
are we now slipping into history repeating itself?

by Donna Diorio

The title this week is directly from Howard Bass
who leads the Beer Sheva Nachalat Yeshua, or Yeshua’s Inheritance congregation. It captures the essence of how Israelis – including most all of the Israeli Messianic leaders – view President Trump’s fast moving Middle East tour last week. I have yet to hear any who are comfortable with the surprising changes that emerged during Trump dealing with Middle Eastern leaders. Honestly, I think buoyed by the high praise of conservatives for how well Trump’s cabinet picks have been performing domestically; I suspect he thought the same would apply to their efforts on the Middle Eastern policies. Clearly they did not do well. Witcoff, in my opinion from the beginning, is a disaster appointment in the Middle East. No telling who else (Rubio) is contributing to the bad news but I believe we should pray that Trump would reawaken to what God had impressed on him before: his alliance to Israel cannot be mere lip service. If any are advising him wrongly, that he would reassign them to a place that does not trip the USA up on God’s will for us, and for Israel.

REALITY CHECK: A pro-Palestinian/Hamas supporter, 31 year old Elias Rodriguez committed a murderous terrorist attack outside of the Jewish Museum in Washington D.C.  His victims were Yaron Lizchinsky, an Israeli Messianic Jew and his fiancé an American Christian. Media and government officials failed to identify the reality that this was no simple murder. It was a terrorist attack. The targets are a prophetic symbol of the one new man in Messiah. We must heed this prophetic warning.

* Somewhere in the early reporting on the tragic deaths of Yaron Lizchinsky and Sarah Milgrim, they were described as a Messianic Jew and his Christian fiancé. This reporting was wrong so, I was wrong in my reporting of it as well. That changes the above statement that is was a prophetic warning of the "one new man" - however, it does not change the fact that it was a warning of things to come, and you can be sure, it will not just be coming for Jews, but also for Christians.

Arrows from Zion
Summarized from the Weekly Summary of Prayer Requests Israeli Ministries

Howard Bass of the Yeshua’s Inheritance congregation in Beer Sheva inspired the naming of this May 23rd issue of Arrows from Zion. It was already clear from most all of the ministry letters that Trump’s Trip (and that may also mean stumble, not just journey) are of great concern including to Israeli ministry leaders. Howard continues: “As those of you who watch for Israeli news, the military incursion again into Gaza is an effort to defeat Hamas and to free all of the remaining hostages.  It is not certified how many are still alive, and whether this latest effort to "finish the job" will bring the much prayed for return of the living and the dead back to their families. . . . And the deals still being pushed to end the war under whatever terms still do not deal with the main spiritual reality behind it all, which is to force Israel to get with the "Gentile solution" to the "Jewish problem". . . . While the US President speaks about a return to common sense, there was none in his willingness to accept the lavish airplane palace from a nation who clearly does not have American interests as a priority, other than to use those willing to go along with the love of money to set them up for a big Islamic reckoning. If born-again Christians have difficulty discerning the signs of the times and not being certain of where the wind is coming from and where it is going, how much more so those whose knowledge and faith in our Lord and God's word is scanty?
Howard shared many great ways the congregation is ministering to build up the body even in the midst of war, but I will share this: On Monday, June 2, there will be the annual national Messianic celebration of Shavuot/Weeks, again at the Baptist Village in Petah Tikva. It is a wonderful opportunity for believers from all around the country, and from many different congregations to come together for good fellowship in the joy of the Lord for the baptism unto life in Messiah/Christ. . . .I have posted a couple of articles on the website:  Tzemach | The Hebrew word "tzemach" is used in several places as a Messianic term for the Messiah/Christ, whom we know is Yeshua/Jesus. | May 14, 1948 | May 14, 1948 is probably the biggest prophetic event since the destruction of the Second Temple in 70AD. . . .
Amir Tsarfati did a very interesting and absorbing interview with "the three sisters," one of whom is Tal's mother-in-law, Ayelet. The Bar-David family has been in the country since before the founding of the State in 1948, and were one of the few Messianic/Christian families that stayed when the Independence War broke out. (Ayelet's husband's non-Jewish family also arrived in the land before the founding of the State, and his mother's brother was one of the founders of Nachalat Yeshua/Yeshua's Inheritance Congregation back in 1972.)The interview mentions the amazing Shalom Jerusalem concert 1995 with Paul Wilbur leading, and many local believers participating in the singing. Even I was among the "choir," and standing to the left of Amir (although he is easily visible in the camera, and I make a "cameo" appearance.  :)

Sally Shiff of the HaMaayan congregation continues to send her updates daily from since the Oct 7 war began. She confessed, “The war is also taxing on our emotions...As I am developing this update from you, finding videos of interest, I cannot watch the events of October 7 that are nightly on our news. Stories of heroes that fought and died on that dreadful day. I send them to you so you can know how to pray: Like this one:  6 vs. 100 Terrorists: The Untold Heroism of Kibbutz Re'im
She notes: The IDF discovered documented evidence that Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023 in order to stop Saudi Arabia from joining the Abraham Accords. [When the Hamas representatives in N America met in 1993 in Philadelphia, according to Holy Land Foundation trial evidence, their #1 object was to strategize how to overthrow the Oslo Accords and reverse US public support of Israel to support Hamas. They have also been successful in this with stunning stealth effectiveness! –DD]

Sally also sent this update 5/23 FROM HaMaayan:  Two Israeli embassy employees were murdered in cold blood tonight by an attacker who shouted: “Free Palestine,” in Washington DC near the Holocaust museum. This young couple were about to be engaged to be married. Yaron Lischinsky had just bought a ring as was going to propose to Sarah Milgrim in Jerusalem next week according to reports. Instead, terrorism knows no geography bounds and rose up in Washington D.C. Just a few days ago, young people from the United Arab Emirates, proudly dressed in their traditional clothes, visited the exact same place, and were met with a hate march, Hamas flags, and calls for murder. Amjad Taha, who was part of the delegation, writes: “This was not a demonstration. This was a warning.” |      The warning has been there all along: • In the chants of “from the river to the sea” • In the takeover of the “campus” protests by Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood • In the silencing of institutions • And in the distortion of freedom of expression to serve terrorism. | Calling for jihad is no free speech.  What happened tonight is not a “local incident.” This is a direct continuation of what happened on October 7th.
Ending on a good note: God gave us so many miracles during the Uniburn festival that you have been praying for, THANK YOU. Within a week, my congregation is putting out our newsletter with an overview of miracles that you had a part in praying for, plus all the rest of the amazing news that He is using us for. If you have not received our newsletter in the past, sign up here.

Tikkun Global sends this Global Prayer Request for Operation Gideon’s Chariots from Betty Intrater. “| After continued failure at negotiations, Operation Gideon’s Chariots has been launched in Gaza, Israel’s version of Trump’s declaration ‘all hell will break out.’ The goal as always is to disable Hamas and release the hostages. In addition, the IDF plans to divide Gaza into 3 military controlled sections with civilian areas in between, to facilitate safe food and humanitarian aid distribution and prevent Hamas from regaining control. . . . Trump finished his Mideast tour and Israel is left wondering what some of the ‘progress’ means for us. The week after the US came to an agreement with the Houthis in Yemen, three rockets were fired in our direction. Ultimately Israel knows she can’t fully depend on anyone, but needs to be able to stand alone. Read in full click title above.
In other news, “Asher Intrater, Ariel Blumenthal, Paul Wilbur, Moses NG (Hong Kong) and Felipe Hasegawa (USA) have arrived in the Netherlands for a three day conference with KNGDM Alliance. Pastor Sebastian Van Wessem & gathering leaders to help bring a greater Kingdom understanding of the End Times and One New Man, in addition to other relevant biblical teachings. We consider this to be a very important part of our mission as a ministry—from Israel to the Nations.  Please pray for the Dutch people. They have been so good to Jews and Israelis over the years.”

Aliyah Return Center’s Chaim Malespin asks Will Israel and Saudi Arabia ever become friends? | On the world stage, President Trump visited Saudi Arabia and Qatar and other places in the Middle East this week, and there were some interesting developments as a result. The relationship between Israel and Saudi Arabia is important to understand. When the UN voted for the establishment of the modern State of Israel, Saudi Arabia opposed it. Ever since, the kingdom has remained in the shadows during the wars waged by surrounding Arab states against Israel. While they’ve been unwilling to directly fight Israel, they have supported Israel’s enemies. For example, they sent financial aid to Syria and Egypt during the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Perhaps their most overt action against Israel came when they led the 1973 oil embargo against the United States. Any nation that supported Israel was hit with an oil embargo, using their oil resources as a geopolitical weapon.
Things began to shift in 2010, as Saudi Arabia started warming up to the U.S. and gradually opening up to the idea of normalizing relations with Israel. This was largely in response to Iran’s growing hegemony in the Middle East. To counterbalance regional powers, Saudi Arabia began leaning more toward the West. Before the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th, Saudi Arabia was very close to joining the Abraham Accords, which would have meant official normalization with Israel. Now, as a result of the conflict, Saudi Arabia is demanding the establishment of a Palestinian state as a prerequisite for joining the Abraham Accords. For Israel, this is not a simple request. Gaza was essentially its own state before October 7th. And look at what happened — instead of building a future, it became a launching pad for destruction.
So will Israel and Saudi Arabia ever become friends?.... Look at what the Bible says about Saudi Arabia that they will bring delegations to Israel with gifts for Israel!!  “A multitude of camels shall cover you... all from Sheba shall come... they shall bring gold and frankincense, and shall proclaim the praises of the Lord.” — Isaiah 60:6 . . . . Isaiah 60 mentions: Sheba, Kedar (son of Ishmael), Nebaioth (firstborn of Ishmael) This reflects a prophetic revival among Arab and Muslim nations coming to worship God here in Israel

Avner Boskey of David’s Tent in the Negev sends two articles back-to-back connecting the dots for us on President Trump’s fast trip through the Middle East in Coconuts, Elephants and Leopards | Here is the “The elephant in the living room | The Western world is for the most part ignorant of what the Arabic-speaking world thinks, what the Islamic community believes, and what Muslim sensitivities are. The secularized West is mostly unaware of what the Quran teaches, and of how the concept of military jihad is central in the Muslim world.”
ALSO Beauty, Oil and Passion | “One analyst has stated: “For bankers, the most important thing is to keep the channels of international finance open, no matter what the human cost.” The violent jihadi ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood is not changing any time soon. And Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, Qatar, Turkey, the Houthis, etc., are all on board for the very bumpy ride. . . .(From the perspective of Ephraim Halevi, former head of the Mossad….”We are in the throes of a world war, raging over the entire globe and characterized by the absence of lines of conflict and an easily identifiable enemy. . . . International cooperation…cannot replace the requirement that each and every country effectively declare itself at war with international Islamist terror … This war is already one of the longest in modern times; as things appear now, it is destined to be part of our daily lives for many years to come.”

Ronit Bender, an intercessor in the HaCarmel congregation and a personal witness herself, studiously keeps away from political comment in her ministry letters but this timejoined the voices of concern about Trump’s Middle East trip: “Recently President Trump was in our region. Given the recent ‘surprises’ the Trump administration has sprung on Israel and the lack of a stop in Israel, there was great concern among Israelis and prayer leaders over the lack of transparency. All that was said has not yet been revealed.” She asks prayers for Trump “not to give in to conditions and compromises that could be detrimental to Israel, most notably by dividing the Land of Israel to create a Palestinian state."
Another prayer request is that One for Israel, the ministry that produced my testimony, is currently in a legal battle. They write "This case was brought against us because of our evangelistic efforts. It’s a direct challenge to the freedom to share the Gospel in Israel and general freedom of speech and freedom of religion." ….For me, sharing the Love of Yeshua is my walk every day…. Pray that One for Israel's lawsuit will be thrown out and the gospel will continue to be unhindered in this Land where Yeshua walked. Pray with me that those I come in contact daily, will get saved.
On a personal note that have testimony-sharing opportunities, “Your prayers are moving mountains. For over 30 years I have suffered pain from my fourth toe on the left foot. It burned day and night.” One of those Ronit has ministered to much met an Israeli doctor who treats wounded soldiers. Despite many doctors seeing Ronit’s toe over the years, this woman immediately knew the problem and went to work on the toe. “I had my first night in 30 years that I slept without foot pain.” She returns in 3 weeks for the 2nd treatment, and no doubt to continue personal witness to others.
There were many more testimonies, but I will leave it at this: Ronit prays for the hostages at a recent prayer time at the Carmel Congregation

Rania Sayegh, House of Prayer & Exploits in Nazareth, catches us up on all they have been doing. Watch a brief recap of their Passover intercession , Build the Altar Highlights and read Worship in the Switzerland Forest  On April 6, the HOPE team gathered in the Switzerland Forest near the Sea of Galilee to worship, pray, and declare the kingship of Jesus over the Tiberias region. On May 3rd 100 Arab believers gathered in Nazareth for a transformative School of Prayer with Dr. Suzette Hattingh (watch clip) | Join the Sound: Partner with Worship & Media | Sow & Grow | At the heart of HOPE is a deep desire to cultivate a dwelling place for God's presence in this land—through worship, intercession, and creative expression that reaches both heaven and earth.

Immanuel Church, Pastor Najeeb and Elizabeth write to catch us up on their work the past two years with the Latrun Community, which has a fascinating history of how German brothers have been serving believers in Israel for 51 years. Unfortunately, the raging arson fires impacted buildings at Latrun and it appears that it will take quite a long time to recover all that burned. This wiped out a seminar they were set to do for Arabic-speaking believers in community of Latrun entitled “Touch the Hem of His Garment.” They have postponed it until the fall, but ask prayers for a suitable place to hold the seminar then.
The couple are also doing ministry with the Christian Arab IDF Soldiers, which has given them a great standing with IDF leaders over the past few years, and also do much outreach to the Armenians. Two wonderful testimonies of encounters with Jewish men, where Najeeb was able to speak to one with real connection about Jesus, and the other, to help a young Jew who had come to faith on his own reading a New Testament  who now wanted immediately to follow it in water baptism! They are meeting to speak more. When Najeeb asked where he found his number, the young man said, “A friend of mine follows your page on social media. He shared some videos and posts with me. That’s how it all started.” I do not have enough room to include all their great news, but you can write them to learn more. Donate information at immanuel.haifa@gmail.com

Claude & Michelle Ezagouri of the MorningStar Fellowship in Tiberias held an open cultural & musical event inviting people from the city to the non-evangelistic event. “In fact, the people who came were religious and I told them who we are. They were touched by the evening that ended with a kosher buffet and some nice small gifts that we offered to every guest. They said that they want to be notified ahead of time next time because they know people whom they want to invite. We are aware of the sensitivity of such an event, but we covered it with prayer and asked the Lord to anoint it, which He really did. We feel it is the time to break the walls between the Messianic Jews and the local community. Beyond evangelistic words, they want to know who we really are. We also felt that they felt alone, and they needed fellowship so our prayer is that we will be guided by God for such events and their timing in the future.”

On the war Claude writes, “…reservists who have fought in the front for over a year are very tired and reluctant to go back to combat. Many of them have lost their jobs and others are in dire financial straits. The war has caused more and more physically wounded and post-trauma victims so often need to go through a long time of therapy that prevents them from functioning normally in their marital, family and professional life. Many soldiers are discouraged by the fact that the orthodox men are exempted from army service …. Many in Israel have a hard time believing that the goals of the war will be reached. If this war is to continue and intensify, please pray that the morale of the army will remain high.  There is much disappointment among many Israelis after Trump’s visit to the Middle East. Israel fears that new decisions and alliances together with some armament deals between the US and some of Israel’s enemies may jeopardize Israel’s interests and security. Moreover, the American vice president Vance cancelled his visit to Israel because of Israel’s decision to intensify the war in Gaza….I feel that God allows this isolation to happen because He wants His people to turn to Him. We remember how, in the days of old, Israel was reprimanded by the Lord because it was too prompt to lean on Egypt…. During Israel’s troubles, we remain confident that God is in control and His plan for and through Israel will work out exactly as the end-times prophecies  tell us. This should encourage us to remain alert and listen to His still voice. Our sincere gratitude for your prayers and support.  Youval & Valerie Yanay of Revive Israel write: “The wail of sirens has become an all-too-familiar sound. It’s becoming a near-daily reality where we are constantly finding ourselves running for cover as the Houthis launch missiles from Yemen. The tension in Israel is razor-sharp—every moment feels uncertain, every breath a prayer. And yet, in the midst of fear and fragility, the presence of God is unmistakably near.

The Carmel Congregation led by Dani & LuAnne Sayag sent out a “Happy Birthday, Israel’ greeting noting: “On May 14, 1948, the final day of the British Mandate, the Jewish governing council proclaimed the establishment of a Jewish State, Israel. The next day, the armies of neighboring nations— Syria, Iraq, Jordan and Egypt—came against the newly-born nation, and many believed this nation would not survive that war. Seventy-seven years later, we are still here. The same God who brought His people out of Egypt, is the One who re-established the nation of Israel. Not because of our deeds, but because of the covenant He made with His people more than 3,000 years ago. If God had not been faithful to His word, if He had abandoned what He promised, that would mean He could not be trusted. Even in the midst of the great challenges we continue to face here in Israel, we are confident in the faithfulness of the God of Israel who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. You can watch and listen to Dani’s complete Isaiah 66:8 message Can a Nation Be Born in One Day? English translation throughout this message in Hebrew.

Reuven Doron, ever encouraging, posts this near 11-minute video “We have to talk to Jesus.” Reuven goes on to quote from the Romans 11 passage beginning, “For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery” to the end of the chapter about “Israel’s calling, failure, recovery, and ultimate destiny.”

Reuven, a presenter at ShelanuTV, sends a quote from an intercessor who spoke with a young Jewish Orthodox man in Jerusalem. The young man said, "Jesus is and always will be the eternal Jewish Orthodox Rabbi. This is certain and can't change.” [I don’t have room to post the whole conversation, but if that was the only thing he said, it is already astounding and a demonstration that God is changing hardened views among the Jewish people right now! ] Reuven continues: Tens of thousands of Hebrew speaking Israelis are watching our Shelanu TV programs online in the privacy of their homes, looking for meaning, comfort, and hope.
