A
New Kind of War
by Reuven Doron
ISRAEL FOUGHT MANY WARS against savage enemies since the Lord God
brought us back to our Land in recent years. However, never before did we
have to fight this kind of a war. Since October 2023 the IDF has been
operating in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Judea, Samaria, Yemen, and Iran, as enemy
ballistic missiles and rockets target all of Israel, and the end is not yet in
sight. And while hopes are high to reach a regional calm along the lines of the
expanded “Abraham Accords” agreements, all these fronts are still “hot” and
very unstable. Things can go better or worse very fast.
HAMAS
& HEZBOLLAH are unwilling to lay down their arms in order to reach an
agreement with Israel and end the war. Rather, nearly 50 Israeli hostages are
still held in the Gaza tunnels, alive or dead. This war could have been over
long ago if they were released, but we are not dealing with reasonable people. As
we wrote at the very beginning of this war, this WILL NOT END until ALL our
kidnapped hostages are returned home. Instead, playing on the West’s naivete,
weakness, and wishful thinking, both of these terror armies are buying time in
order to rebuild their capabilities before launching the next attack. Their
ultimate goals regarding Israel’s
destruction are clearly stated and often
recited for all who have ears to hear, and they cannot change. There is only one way this war should end, and
to that end we are praying.
IRAN,
militarily humiliated and financially broke, is nevertheless adamant about
rebuilding its nuclear program… itching for the next round of hostilities. Like
Nazi Germany, they are too proud and foolish to acknowledge and accept their
defeat.
THE
HOUTHIS in Yemen are still launching ballistic missiles at Israel,
sending us into the bomb-shelters every few days. It’s annoying! With the
USA having reached a “convenient” (strange) “cease-fire” of sorts with the
Houthi terror army, Israel, as is often the case, is on its own. We will
soon launch a decisive campaign to burn this hornets’ nest down.
EGYPT
still refuses to open up its Rapha Border Crossing to the Gaza Strip.
Once opened, this safe and accessible land crossing will allow hundreds of
thousands of Gazans to escape Hamas’ brutal grip and migrate safely out of
their hell-hole into safe zones elsewhere. However, the Egyptians hate the
invented ‘Palestinians’ and are afraid of Hamas’ terrorists destabilizing the
already frail Egyptian governing Junta. As the Lord described it, “Every kingdom divided against itself is
brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not
stand. If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will
his kingdom stand?” (Matt 12).
The
“Two State (make-believe) Solution” is breathing its last as a proposed law to apply Israeli sovereignty
over Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley just passed in the Israeli Knesset,
our Parliament. Applying this law is another story as it will require more
faith, courage and wisdom than Israel’s leadership presently possesses. However, God’s plan will be accomplished,
and the Word of God will be fulfilled, saying, “I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of
Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My
people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they
have also divided up My Land.” (Joel 2).
Highest
Cost of Living. While Israel’s economy is supernaturally upheld in spite of
this extended season of war and the increasing international isolation, high
costs of living continue to plague us, impacting every facet of our lives and
ministry. In fact, a recent global study concluded that the Cost of Living
in Israel is the HIGHEST among all the OECD nations (Organisation for Economic
Co-operation & Development). This global body represents the 38 most
industrialized and developed countries in the world that are committed to
democratic values and market-based economies, and Israel is THE MOST
EXPENSIVE place to live in among them. According to this study, we pay on
average 38% MORE on everything we consume here, with car prices about double
the costs in the USA and Europe. Thank you for sharing our burden of raising our family
and serving the Lord here.
Serving God’s purposes and lifting up the name of YESHUA (Jesus) here
in Israel during these trying times is an honor. Our eyes are daily lifted
up to the Lord to uphold and strengthen us in the battle, knowing His promise
that “My grace is sufficient for you, for
My strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2-Corinthians 12). We deeply
appreciate your prayers, and thank God for those who are able and are called to
stand with us financially.
Plus: For Christians who don't support Israel
On Reuven’s Facebook page, one man
commented and I felt compelled to reply to him. It became something I wanted to
share on my X account @DonnaDiorioTX in a slightly expanded form. The
man’s comment was that "God is not underwriting the Israel project."
FOR CHRISTIANS who don't support Israel. | Donna
Diorio | If I may, as an American
Christian, not an Israeli Jewish believer, God is not "underwriting"
every single thing Israel does, but you better believe the "Israel
project" is GOD's project!
God is certainly with Israel
defending herself against the Islamists! He has made so many promises to that
effect in prophetic Hebrew Scriptures and confirmed those promises in the New
Covenant Scripture.
I don't see how Christians can
honestly miss God's "Israel project" as you demean it with your
labeling because it is clear from Scripture God's intention to re-establish
Israel as the Jewish homeland (Promised Land) and to bring back Jews from exile
all over the world, then rise to defend her when all the nations turn on her.
To miss this
"underwriting" of Israel's safe existence in the land God promised to
the Jews forever, is to be in a dangerous spiritual state.
The Islamic dogma that wherever they
are, the land belongs to them, is the driver against Israel because Islamists
believe Allah is the supreme god. To allow Jews to remain the power over
Israeli land is the undermine Allah being the 'god of all god'. They have to
fight to the death as proof that Allah is supreme.
As Christians you really ought to
know that is what this is about: will the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob,
whose lineage produced Yeshua/Jesus prevail, or will Allah prevail? You must also understand that Islamic
domination of the world dogma it is also the driver of every single land on
every single continent where Islamism is growing to the harm of the people of
that nation. We know God will prevail, but how many will die at the hands of
Islamists before their final defeat?
Islamists are a world threat, and if
you don't believe God is protecting Israel from extinction by Islam, then I
hope you understand that is the same foundational basis we have for our hope
that Islam will fail to make our nations extinct too because of their drive to
dominate and conquer us.
If you can't believe God is helping
Israel in this battle, I guarantee you, you will not be able to stand in our
nations in this great threat we share with Israel from Islamists.
Wake up. Believers in Jesus are in
this with Israel, and if not, our battle to persevere against the Islamist
threat ourselves just got greatly dimmer.

Summarized from the Weekly Summary of Prayer
Requests Israeli Ministries
Arni Klein writes in the Emmaus Way
prayer letter writes, “Our last letter ended with a
call for help. If anything, that sense of need has only increased…. Our young
men are dying in an unwinnable battle. Discouragement runs high. Nearly
thirty soldiers have taken their own lives. Fifty survivors of the Nova
Festival massacre have also committed suicide. The whole nation is in
trauma. How can one bear such horror and grief? …. across the world, multiple
media platforms and political pulpits are presenting as verified common
knowledge that Israel is murdering Gazans seeking food and untold numbers of
children are starving to death…. The situation is dire….We happen to presently
be in the historically most devastating period in the calendar year in the
life of the Jewish people – commonly called the Dire Straits.
(July 13-August 3)
Arni goes on to identify a
critical moment in the “date that marks the
beginning of the period is the 17th of Tammuz” which is the date “when
Israel, weary of waiting for Moses to return from 40 days on the mountain with
the Lord, worshipped before a molded calf and Moses broke the tablets inscribed
with God’s covenant with Israel (Ex.32). This moment actually followed
in the spirit of something that had happened 40 days earlier in Exodus 20.
The people heard the very voice of God presenting His ten commandments
(vs.1-17). Struck with fear they said to Moses, “You speak with us, and we will
hear; but let not God Himself speak with us, lest we die.” He notes that in saying that “the people
already expressed a lack of trust in God’s care for them” and that “It began with a
perception of God and His thoughts toward them, such that they really did not
want to hear whatever He might have to say.” [dd:
Is this not true of most of the world who reject God? It was my perception of
God for the 20 years of my life before I returned to faith.]
Arni continues, “We suggest that
the formation of this inner position was and is the first step away from the
Presence of God. The next stage was feeling the need to effectively
forsake God and take matters into their own hands…. The full
manifestation of the state of Israel’s heart came one year later on the 9th of
Av, the day after the twelve spies returned. The people flatly refused
to obey the Lord’s command to go in and take the Land. A simple summary is that
which began as disbelief ended in disobedience, followed by destruction and
exile….
“. . . .
Israel’s spiritual condition is open for all to see. The burning burden
in our heart is for the Church…the Body and Bride of Messiah. Romans 11:25 leaves no
confusion or question. The removal of Israel’s blindness is dependent on the
Body in the nations waking up to their true calling. Romans 11:11 is a statement of incomparable
magnitude. It sets forth a primary directive for the Church.
The awakening of Israel
to the full revelation of God is the key to life from the dead…the return of
the Lord…satisfying the longing of Father’s heart.
According to what’s written in Matthew 25, the way we relate to Yeshua’s
natural brethren is a determining factor in our eternal destiny. These realities sit in
the deepest place of God’s heart. If we are not gripped and
shaken by their eternal magnitude, our sense of intimacy with God is somewhere
between a delusion and a deception. To give them verbal credence without sacrificial
commitment is to lightly esteem God’s Word and consequently His heart. It is to
be devoid of the ever-burning oil of first love. … The
depth of our understanding of the place of Israel in God’s heart and plan is a
reflection of the degree of our true knowledge and relationship with Him. [There
is much more. Write to Arni for the full 7/25 letter.-dd]
Sally Shiff wrote
about 4 days just past about a Divine appointment when she accompanied her pastor and a new immigrant went to the area of the Hamas
attack on Oct 23, 2023. In the process of this visit she was able to meet IDF
soldiers guarding the place, then she spotted an obvious VIP entourage touring
the area. She found out it was “"A special advisor for Donald Trump"
Who? I asked. Paula White. I had
no shame in going straight over there to introduce myself. (those of you who
know me know this is not out of my character). I walked straight over and
said, "Paula White?" She turned around and I began to tell her I was
an American citizen and live here and was here during October 7. "Please
tell Mr. Trump Thank you! As I continued to tell a little of my story, she
stopped me and said, "Tell him yourself." All of the
sudden, the video was on me, and here I was speaking to President Trump by
video I am sure to be seen later by him!
That day Sally also “had a wonderful experience
listening to a soldier, a strong believer, who is a tank commander
with the IDF. He has
been in Gaza on and off since the war began. He was sharing with a group of us,
leaders from all nationalities here in Israel….He shared about “how he had
counselors to help him adjust after Gaza. Two questions always come up,
probably to the entire nation: Where was God? Why this? As N was
grappling with this very issue, Psalm 23 came to mind. He described how the
first part of the psalm talks about the green meadows and such. But then
there is the next part, the valley of the shadow of death. He talked about
how the counselor asked him to think about a good memory. In that memory
was him making coffee for his family, the family time together. In that
memory, the counselor asked him, "Where was Yeshua?" And He could see that Yeshua was right there.
Flashing back to his "valley of death" Gaza, in
his tank, there was a seat behind where
he sat, and he could "see" Yeshua sitting in that seat as well.
Where N went during his time in Gaza,
and what he had to experience that he knew that Yeshua was with him. "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your
staff, they comfort me."
This part of his
testimony shook me to my core. Before
I moved to Israel, I never thought I would be in a war up close and personal.
And this war is just that, up close and personal. There is not one
person in our nation that has not been greatly affected by the evils of this
war, of Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran.”
[DD: Again there is so much more
Sally shared, email her for more. How the body of Messiah in Israel is
processing such stressful times is so important to the international body.
They are still an example to us for these last days as the world around us
grows darker – they are pointing the way to how to let the light of Yeshua
shine through us.]
Josie Silver of Out of Zion in Haifa writes, “Whose Report Will You Believe?” | “This
rhetorical question from Isaiah echoes louder than ever in this media-saturated
generation. We live in a world consumed by news—global broadcasts, breaking
alerts, endless scrolls of social media posts, analysis from “experts,” and
opinion pieces from influencers. . . .And the deeper the crisis, the louder the
voices. Everyone has a theory. Every media outlet has an angle. In Israel,
we’re barraged with it—accusations, false narratives, twisted headlines, and
open hostility. Much of the global media spreads twisted narratives about our
military, our government, and our people that are blatantly false—and worse,
widely believed.
It's no exaggeration to
say we're watching a war of words unfold as much as missiles and weapons. And unfortunately, many believers are being
pulled in to this web of lies. We spend hours trying to make sense of it
all—some swallow it whole, some grow skeptical, and others simply give up
trying to discern truth from propaganda. We watch, we speculate, we
debate... but where does it leave us? . .
.So again we ask: Whose report will you believe? As the
body of Messiah, we are called to be people of discernment—men and women of the
report.

Galilee—Where Big Things Start Small |
Earlier this week, I had a really special experience that I want to share with
you. I was traveling through the Galilee, and I came to a spot high up in the
hills—one of those quiet, peaceful places that stops you in your tracks. From
there, I could see the entire Sea of Galilee laid out before me. It was
absolutely stunning. To my left was Tiberias, a city with both modern life and
ancient history. Just beyond it, Magdala—the hometown of Mary Magdalene. And if
you let your eyes travel north along the shoreline, you come to Bethsaida,
where some of Yeshua’s disciples came from. Standing there, it felt like the
pages of the Bible were opening up right in front of me. And in that moment, I
couldn’t help but reflect on this powerful thought: This region—this small lake
and the villages around it—was the center of Yeshua’s earthly ministry...WATCH Now We

The Tikkun Global issued a
Global Prayer request today 8/1 | Highlighting the issues, here are a few: “Negotiations for ceasefire seem to be in a never-ending
deadlock. Israel has stooped as low as it can without totally
capitulating to Hamas’ insistence to remain armed and in power…. the
price has been high, with over 20
soldiers killed in combat this past month plus an unfathomable seven more
committing suicide. The mental stress of war has taken its toll and
many of our soldiers are severely exhausted…. Opposition from around
the world has reached astronomical proportions, way above whatever
reasonable complaints or disagreements would entail. Yes, the situation in
Gaza is horrific, unbearable. No, it is not caused by a baby killing genocidal
Israeli army. Israel emphatically denies
there is starvation in Gaza and puts much of the blame on Hamas’ looting
and abusing the humanitarian situation…. Israel is alarmed by the number of western nations
ready to declare a Palestinian state. The Palestinian
‘territories’ are not defined by clear borders, but are woven through
Israeli territory. Terrorist infrastructure and blatant hatred for Israel
thrives there as well as refusal to accept Israel’s right to exist. To declare sovereignty
within this culture of hate would be a declaration of death to Israel. Please
pray for: • Return of ALL hostages by ‘negotiations’ or other means
• Strength and protection for our soldiers physically and mentally • Wisdom for our leaders to understand
correct war strategy • Complete
destruction of terrorist infrastructure • Ability to fight the flood of
lies in media • Wisdom for how to turn around the humanitarian crisis
while continuing to meet strategic goals • Proper response to world
opposition • Revival among Arabs in Israel, Palestinian territories, Gaza,
and throughout the Middle East • Salvation for Israel

The economy still faces significant challenges due to massive military
spending, disruptions to economic activity, and the suspension of international

particularly affected, while the mobilization of reservists has caused a
growing labor shortage. In 2024, Israel became the second highest spender on
security worldwide, leading the government to raise taxes such as VAT and
health and social insurance contributions, making life more expensive

From the Revive Israel community led by Youval and Valerie Yanay whose
discipleship program is structured around their farming that is the basis of
outreach in their Friday Market days for the surrounding community. “It’s more
than just a place to sell fresh vegetables; it’s a time of connection, of
sharing, of being the hands and feet of Jesus to those around us, and of
sharing openly the Gospel. The joy we feel in serving our community is
immeasurable. Just last week, there was an older couple who came by and heard the Gospel for
the first time. They were touched, and the wife asked for Tal’s number, wanting
to bring a group of ladies in retirement to hear about God and our faith in
Yeshua. Pray for the different
people who come to the market to have an open heart and to be saved.
Also team member “Neveen had the privilege
of serving at her church’s annual summer camp, where children from all
walks of life, believers and seekers alike, came together. The Baptist
Church in Turan, a village located just north of Nazareth, started as a small

population. The village itself is home to both Christians and Muslims, creating
a unique environment for ministry.

the country remains in a fragile situation, we ask for your continued prayers
for a breakthrough, for peace to settle over the land, the safe return of

that they would be filled with wisdom and guided by God’s heart for justice and
peace. Thank you for your partnership in this journey. Your prayers and support are a
